Get Going With This Easy Green Smoothie Recipe

We are coming to the end of an extended 6-week winter and couldn’t be happier. Though we all love our winter stews and warming comfort foods, the spring weather plays host to greener, fresher, and lighter meals. With the spring equinox comes an opportunity to spring clean not just your closet, but your body.

This simple, clean and packed-with-protein smoothie is a great way to ring in spring. For our vegan & vegetarian friends, substitute an Almond Butter Perfect Bar with a 1/2 cup of raw almonds for an adequate amount of protein.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 1 frozen small to medium banana (TIP: peel and slice before freezing for less headaches!)
  • 3/4 cup of frozen mixed berries (strawberries and blueberries are my favorite)
  • 1 Almond Butter Perfect Bar
  • 1-2 cups of water or coconut water (unpasteurized)

For some added umph:
Play around with your super foods like chia, flax, bee pollen, or hemp seeds.
