Mummy and Spider Web Peanut Butter Cups

Mummy and Spider Web Peanut Butter Cups

These Mummy, Spider and Spider Web Peanut Butter Cups are the perfect treat for Halloween! Made with only a few simple ingredients like white chocolate, pretzels and candy eyeballs on top of our Refrigerated Peanut Butter Cups – anyone can tackle this spooky DIY.

 Ingredients

Makes 24 pieces

Instructions

In a double-boiler over low to medium heat, add the white chocolate and cook until melted and smooth, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for at least 3 to 5 minutes. Add the melted chocolate to a piping bag or pastry squeeze bottle fitted with an extra small round tip and add the peanut butter cups to a work surface.

To create the spider webs:  Pipe concentric hexagon-like rings coming away from the center. Then, pipe intersecting lines meeting from the center point to create the webs. If the chocolate is still warm enough, drag a toothpick from the center to create the intersecting lines. Once that’s done, you’re going to place a few candy eyes on the webs.

To create the mummies: Drizzle the white chocolate organically across the cups to resemble white bandage strips on a mummy. And, of course, decorate with two eyes for an extra spooky looking Peanut Butter Cup.

To create spiders: You’re going to stick a few broken pretzel pieces into the sides of the cups to create spider legs. Then, pipe two dots of white chocolate onto centers of each cup and place a candy eye onto each dot to secure into place.

Let peanut butter cups stand at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. Once the chocolate is dry pack up for a later time, or set out on serving tray to enjoy right away.

*Cups keep well covered in the fridge until expiration date or at room temperature for up to two days.
