We might be a little biased, but we think California has a whole lot of goodness to offer. We live the West Coast life on the daily, so finding a brand that offers swag to show that off — and does it really well — is a find we can’t pass up during this back-to-school season. Everyday California is based right down the road from Perfect Bar HQ in La Jolla, and their motto is simple: “California is a state of mind.” We dig it!

While Everyday California is well-known for its phenomenal kayak tours and snorkeling adventures, it’s hard to ignore the line of Cali-pride apparel. It’s a clean-cut beach casual style, inspired by and created in La Jolla with the quality and comfort you’d expect from LA fashion gurus. Everyday California truly reflects the athletic, health-conscious and eco-friendly lifestyle people have come to expect from the West Coast.

The brand was the brainchild of Mike Samer and Chris Lynch, who started by doing guided kayak tours for a local La Jolla business. When that business went up for sale, they jumped at the opportunity to take it over — but it was no easy feat. Initially, the two ran the business through personal cell phones, a laptop and a storage unit. With a few kayaks and some dive equipment, they set up shop and hustled through each day.

Eventually, the business grew large enough for the guys to build their dream shop, complete with reclaimed wood from old barges and barns and skylights, all in a building designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. It really is a Cali dream come true.

They bring this beachy style to the masses with their laid-back gear, and we can’t help but love it all, from the chill tees to the showy tanks — but it’s their headwear we can’t get enough of.

California is more than just a state for sunny beach days and long drives down the coast. It’s a state of mind where adventure is just around the corner and Everyday California brings that vibe to their apparel. So, whether you live in Detroit or Des Moines, you can reflect your California style all day, every day.

Call it passion, or maybe curiosity -- whatever it is Jessica is fueled by, it's not slowing down any time soon. From the get-go, she knew that her desire to represent brands with a purposeful story was a strong one, and after graduating with a degree in public relations from SDSU, followed by a solid stint at a lifestyle PR agency, she landed in a role with a company whose story outshines the rest (hint hint, that's here). She's openly obsessed with the outdoors, reveling in cycling races, hiking adventures and, most commonly, brunching on patios. She is known for always taking the "scenic route" -- especially for fish taco pit-stops along the way -- and makes a solid effort to keep her schedule jam-packed with activities and friends, which keeps her on her toes.
