The Zodiac Superfood: What You Should Be Eating Based On Your Sign

Let’s be honest—we’re all tempted by a good monthly horoscope. Some people read them just for kicks; others are big-time celestial believers who plan their lives around them. Whatever side you fall on, it’s fun to think about your destiny actually being written in the stars. Each zodiac sign foretells a future based on their unique character traits and the corresponding alignment of the planets. And as much as we would love to reveal your romantic destiny, we’d rather reveal a horoscope on something we understand a little better: superfoods, of course! Read on to find out which superfood is perfect for your astrological sign.

AQUARIUS | JANUARY 20 – FEBRUARY 18

Those born into the age of Aquarius are a progressive, independent, humanitarian-minded bunch. They make fiercely loyal friends and tend to be people pleasers on a never ending quest to make sure everyone is happy. That being said, it comes as no surprise that they love crowds and feel good being part of a community, although they still appreciate their alone time. Intelligent and well-spoken, their wealth of knowledge attracts others, and their rational/practical side makes them great problem solvers.

So, Aquarius, meet Tomato, the superfood that will remain fiercely loyal to you through its quest to solve your health problems.

Just as Aquarius’ attract others with their wealth of knowledge, they will find an attraction to tomatoes for their wealth of health benefits. They’re full of vitamin C, antioxidants and lycopene which protect against photo aging, cancer and inflammation. They also contain a considerable amount of calcium and Vitamin K, both of which are essential in strengthening and performing minor repairs on the bones as well as the bone tissue. The best part about these is that they’re super easy to incorporate into your diet. Not unlike how an Aquarius is comfortable both in large groups and on their own, tomatoes can be enjoyed á la carte (perhaps with some mozzarella, caprese-style) or in a huge community salad alongside other superfoods.

PISCES | FEBRUARY 19 – MARCH 20

The water-based sign is known for drawing people in with their friendly personality and big-heart. Selfless and always looking to help others, Pisces bring out the best in everyone—and with a personality like that, it’s no wonder why. So, Aries, meet Carrot, the superfood that will give you the strength to maintain that self-reliance.

Carrots are full of nutrients that provide protection against heart disease and cancer, while also building strong bones and a healthy nervous system—both of which you’ll need to keep up with the energy and ambition inherent to your personality. Another perk to this superfood is its anti-aging properties which can produce glowing, healthy skin, helping you to be self-assured inside and out. The Beta carotene and vitamin A also promote healthy eyes, so even if you can’t see the side to another argument, at least you’ll be able to see right in front of you.
